Kitchener-Waterloo Poppy Fund Awards Youth and Presents Charitable Donations from the 2001 Poppy Fund

Friday, March 22, 2002 - Kitchener: Grand River Hospital was amongst the winners at this year's Kitchener-Waterloo Poppy Fund Annual Awards Ceremony, receiving $25,000 towards Emergency equipment, an ECG Monitor and a Treatment Stretcher. Nancy Hewat represented the Grand River Hospital Foundation at the event and was thrilled to participate in the ceremonies.

A time-honoured tradition, the K-W Poppy Fund presents awards to the winning students of the annual poster, essay and poem contest and distributes proceeds from the Poppy Fund to local charities. This year's recipients, including the Grand River Hospital were St. Mary's General Hospital, Meals on Wheels and HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre.
