2010 Poppy Campaign starts October 29, 2010
The KW Poppy Fund campaign will officially kick off on Friday October 29th, 2010 at 11:00AM in front of the Poppy House at 21 Regina St. North, Waterloo.
At the opening ceremonies of the Poppy Campaign we are (planning) to unveil
a mural that is being painted by the students of Koinonia Christian Academy
and will be fastened to the wall of the Poppy house.
We will then lower the Canadian Flag and replace with the Poppy Flag for
the duration of the Poppy Campaign, then we will present first Poppies to the Mayors of Kitchener, Waterloo and Regional Chair.
A team of volunteers will then proceed to nursing homes and present Poppies to our seniors. Anyone wishing to volunteer for this event can do so by contacting Br.530 Poppy Chairman Ron Hinschberger at (519)745-6713
In the evening we will be joining (FOSCIA) at 6:00 PM at the Waterloo Cenotaph beside the City Hall for the yearly Red Friday rally where we will march on a colour guard of Veterans from our local service clubs, unveil our new plaques, etc.
A barbecue and other entertaining events are in the making, so come out and
support this event and remember that all funds raised will go to the Poppy Fund.
