Opening Ceremony Oct 27th 1 p.m.

2017 ANNUAL POPPY CAMPAIGN

Help us to celebrate the Tradition of Remembrance and join us as we present the first Official Poppies to be worn for this year’s 2017 Poppy Campaign.

There will be a short ceremony of the Canadian Flag being lowered and the Poppy Flag being raised, in front of the Poppy House at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017.  Please note the new time and location at 316 Marsland Drive in Waterloo.     

The Poppy has been widely recognized as a symbol of Remembrance, since it was first adopted in 1921. By wearing the Poppy, we demonstrate our gratitude to those who gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy.  The Poppy Campaign raises awareness of the Poppy as a symbol of Remembrance.The Poppy Campaign is the Foundation of our Remembrance Programme.

If you wish to make a Poppy donation in person and receive your Income Tax Receipt immediately, please note our Office is located inside The Royal Canadian Legion Waterloo Branch No. 530 at 316 Marsland Drive in Waterloo.

Poppy Office Access:  As Marsland Drive in Waterloo is under construction, the access to the Waterloo Branch No. 530 Legion (our Poppy Office is located inside the Branch) is from the University Avenue at Marsland Drive end (not Columbia/Lexington Street).  Just before the Legion, you must cut through the neighbour’s parking lot that is connected into ours.  We are sorry for any inconvenience.
