The Rangers announced yesterday that the online auction of the jerseys and helmets has raised $49,000 to support the Poppy Fund, which aids veterans and their families.
The special jersey, derived from a British First World War recruitment poster that was inspired by Lord Kitchener, was designed to honour the Canadian Forces.
The Memorial Cup was donated in 1919 by the Ontario Hockey Association as a memorial to those who died in defence of Canada during the First World War.
