Poppy Box thieves caught

KITCHENER — Two Cambridge men are under arrest after poppy boxes were stolen from three stores on Highland Road.

Waterloo Regional Police caught up with the men during an alleged theft at a Zehrs grocery store and suspected they could be the same men wanted in the thefts of other poppy boxes, as well as a theft at a Shopper’s Drug Mart.

Police allege that one of the two men, aged 45 and 25, would distract the store clerk while the other stole the poppy box.

Police are asking for the public to contact them about any thefts of poppy boxes from retail outlets.
